Travis Kelce inks record-setting contract extension with Chiefs

The Kelce family's dominance in 2023 has carried well into 2024.
Both recently retired future Hall of Fame center Jason Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce picked up huge victories for the family on Monday.

News broke earlier that Jason Kelce is joining ESPN to be part of its "Monday Night Football" pregame show after he was reportedly pursued by multiple networks.

Hours later, Travis Kelce inked a historic contract extension to continue his career in Kansas City.

Both Kelce brothers had arguably already put together Hall of Fame careers prior to 2023, but the duo have become household names in the last 12-plus months, even for non-football fans.

Part of the family's ascension to the next level of fame began with an unlikely source, Donna "Mama" Kelce.

Donna joined her sons in the headlines leading up to their Super Bowl LVII matchup, won by Kansas City, in February 2023.

Her stardom continued throughout 2023, starring in multiple commercials and hanging out with the likes of superstar singer-songwriter Taylor Swift at Chiefs games.

Of course, Travis' romance with Swift has catapulted the pass-catcher into another stratosphere of fame since the fall. Even prior to his relationship with the 14-time Grammy winner, though, Travis hosted an episode of "Saturday Night Live" in March 2023, where his parents and Jason made cameos.

While "Traylor" was taking off in the fall, Jason did get one unexpected boost of popularity over his brother.

The seven-time Pro Bowler was named a finalist for People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2023. The award ended up going to actor Patrick Dempsey.
